What’s the difference of Furnace Black and Gas Black
1.Furnace black
Furnace carbon black is a liquid hydrocarbon, gaseous hydrocarbon or its mixture as raw materials, given the appropriate air, in the reactor to form a closed turbulent system, where a part of the raw material hydrocarbons and air combustion and thus generate high temperatures, while the other part of the cracking to produce carbon black.
The generated carbon black is suspended in the flue gas and is cooled, filtered, collected and pelletised as a product. This production method is called furnace method. Among them, the gaseous hydrocarbons as the main raw material production process is called gas furnace method, the liquid hydrocarbons as the main raw material production process is called oil furnace method.
2. Gas black
Gas method is based on natural gas as raw material, through thousands of porcelain fire nozzles, in the natural ventilation of the “fire room” and the air for incomplete combustion, the formation of fishtail-shaped diffusion of the flame, the reduction layer and the slow reciprocating movement of the channel steel contact, so that the cracking of the carbon black generated by the deposition of carbon black on the surface of the channel steel, through the set in the hopper on the scraper will be scraped off the carbon black, falling into the hopper, and then with the output of the screw conveyor, pelleting for the product.
Because the raw material is mainly methane-based natural gas or coal bed methane, so it is also known as natural gas tank method pigment carbon black.
If you do ink and paint and other oil-based products trough method of brightness and dispersion performance is better; if you do rubber and plastic or water-based products furnace carbon black pigment and covering power to be stronger, but at present more than 95% of the world’s carbon black are manufactured using the oil furnace method.
