The electrical conductivity of conductive carbon black depends on its microcrystalline structure, particle size distribution characteristics and surface structure. Among them, the structure of conductive carbon black plays a leading role.
The structure of the so-called conductive carbon black is a state formed by carbon atoms in the process of generating carbon atoms polyfusion. When the carbon atoms continue to grow, many polyfused atoms are connected to form a three-dimensional space and chain branching structure, forming a one-time structure or structure, and a strong chemical bond is formed between the crystal nuclei. Between the aggregates, Van der Waals forces predominantly form what is called a secondary or born structure.
These aggregates particles connect polymers in a chain-dendritic structure that is easily damaged and the process is reversible. In terms of particle size, the primary particle size is generally 10~100nm; the aggregate particle size, i.e. carbon black particle size is generally 50~500nm; the formation of the attachment is more than 1μm. for highly conductive carbon black, due to its preparation characteristics, its apparent particle size is more than 10μm.
Conductive carbon black has high conductivity, high structural, irregular aggregates, small size (nanometer), large specific surface area, rough, clean surface (less compounds), easy to mix with other materials, etc., can effectively form the insulator three-dimensional network structure, effectively improve electrical conductivity, and can give the product conductive or anti-static effect.
Conductive carbon black is all conductive filler in the effect of good, low cost, poor physical properties of the product.
According to its conductive properties and manufacturing methods, conductive carbon black can be divided into: conductive groove black (CC), conductive furnace method of carbon black (CF), superconducting furnace method of carbon black (SCF), special conductive furnace method of carbon black (XCF) and so on. Conductive carbon black is a widely used chemical raw material. Due to its good conductivity and cost-effective, it is widely used in conductive and anti-static products, and is becoming increasingly popular in energy, lithium-ion batteries, lead-acid batteries and supercapacitors.
