Good adsorption capacity of carbon black pigment dispersant on the pigment surface is crucial

Table of Contents

The adsorption capacity of the dispersant on the surface of the pigment is crucial and this process is closely related to the surface properties of Carbon Black Pigment. Inorganic pigments have an ionic structure with high surface polarity, which makes it easy to adsorb the dispersant. Since organic pigments and carbon black pigment are crystals composed of non-polar molecules, their surfaces are non-polar.

It is very difficult for low molecular mass dispersants to adsorb such pigments, and studies have shown that such carbon black dispersants cannot well unflocculate and stabilise organic pigments and carbon black, until the emergence of high molecular weight polymer-based wetting dispersants, which has solved this problem well.

Carbon black and carbon nanotubes are negatively positively charged and negatively charged, respectively, and according to the law of charge anisotropy, the dispersant makes good improvement in both dispersion and conductivity. Incorporating electrostatically assembled carbon black/carbon nanotubes into silicone rubber matrix can effectively improve the dispersibility and conductivity of the material.

The adsorption capacity of carbon black pigment dispersant on the pigment surface is critical
  • The dispersion of carbon black and carbon nanotubes is improved, the surface tension is reduced, the surface energy reduces the surface tension, so as to achieve the purpose of blocking the electrostatic force, is an ordered structure technology with good electrostatic properties, uniform stability.
  • The molecular structure of macromolecular polymer carbon black pigment dispersant not only has a large number of pigment affinity groups, but also these pigment affinity groups can be designed to include many different types, so the polymer wetting and dispersing agent can be applied to a variety of different types of organic pigments, with a wide range of versatility, which in turn provides a great convenience for the production process of the coating.
  • It is often possible to disperse almost all types of organic pigments and carbon blacks, and even inorganic pigmented fillers, in the same coating system using only one wetting dispersant, although high molecular weight wetting carbon black dispersants were originally designed to disperse organic pigments.pigment carbon black from Beilum Carbon
